Version 0.3b

Sorry guys about the issue where pspradio will keep skipping to the next track; it was late last night when I sent it out and didn't test long enough.
I think I have this corrected; I'll look into a couple more things and publish a new version shortly.
(For now I just disabled the function to go to the next song when one finishes)
I also fixed the problem where if the playlist was not defined in the config file, the app would crash.

I apologize again,

Raf

I'm releasing 0.31b now.. (Thanks gbazone for hosting the file, also here http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/pspradio.shtml thanks to wraggster)

So i was thinking for way down the road. What if it we simulare to win amp in such a way that winamp skins could be used to change the apperance. Instant Skins.

    Just a thought.

    On a more current thought.

I notice that screen refeshes leave droping from time to time on the screen. May be that a CLS would be in order VS just over printing the new data.

RFor the sake of keeping it simple

what if you were to moove the control information to the top of the screen right under your copy write say the first 3 lines of the screen would be for that.

Then any information needed to be printed could taht up a seprate line on the screen this way you could do a partial screen clear starting at line 4 and wiping top the end and then reprint the screen

By doing this it could keep the display clean and easy to identify when there were a problem.

    Just an idea,

    Thanks

hey, i found a bug. the psp doesnot charge when plugged in and running this application. you might want to look into that as wi-fi uses a lot of power.

I think turbo responded to you on this. It is not a bug while using wifi your PSP will not charge check it out with a diffrent program or game connect to a site with a web browder like from wipeout pure and see what we mean while you are connected with wifi the chargeing circuit looks to be disabled..

Raf i assume this would be true for any program,

    Test Screen Image

This is waht i was suggesting the black area below the last line could be for dynamic screen info that could be wiped and reprinted with easy (sub to clear the lower portion of the screen only)

Buy putting the less dynamic information on thier own lines you could do a line print that would clear that line and reprint just that data thus house cleaning the end of text to end of line.

Im sure your not to worried bout this stuff right now but thought i woul just put it out there..

    Thanks

are you planning on making other khz settings work. for example 16 khz. there's one radio station i like to listen to and it comes in 44khz on real meadia and only 16khz on winamp method. i don't like to use real media player anyways. I just wanted to know if its possible to add support for 16khz radio stations. right now it sounds like 'alvin and the chipmunks' lol. great program by the way. i'm loving it.

halfast: Yeah, you're right, there's lots of leftover data printed on the screen that is not beeing deleted when it should. I just haven't given this any time yet. But, thanks for your ideas, I may do something like that.
I need to iron out some details, so GUI work can proceed too...

OK, this version is better than 0.2 and 0.3, in that it works without crashing and can handle a list of stations in the playlist fine...

However, I have noticed that on all stations, the audio is not playing correctly... There are stutters and it's as though the sound keeps speeding up and slowing down :$

I have reverted back to v0.1 and the same stations are fine!

    Something weird is happening methinks.

I'm listening to a number of 128kbps Shoutcast MP3 streams.

I have turned off WiFi and PSP Power Saving.

I have used PSPSicko to rename the folders so that the corrupted data icon is removed, but this is how v0.1 has been working for the last few days without issue.

    Good luck!

    Cheers

    Josh

I have seen the same thing that Handojin_UK is reporting, but I could only notice it on a songs that I have heard a lot. It is a very slight case of speeding up or even skipping a small bit (fraction of a second probably).

Lol! My son hates it when I come do stuff on the computer, so I have to wait for him to take a nap or go to bed.. He just did :)

    Got it, thanks!!
About the winamp skins, I have thought about it; xmms is another possibility..

    > Raf i assume this would be true for any program,
I'm not sure, I didn't realize it didn't charge until beyond belief pointed it out...

Yes!, but I need to get libsamplerate to work first, because upsampling from non-multiples of 11khz is not trivial (This happens because the PSP is locked at 44KHz, so I actually need to upsample the stream to 44KHz no matter what the source is at.).

    Good to hear!!

Hmm.. this is not good. I believe this is caused by me not processing the metadata correctly. I'll add a setting to the config file to disable metadata processing.
Can you tell me if it happens with the first station you connect to, or only with sub-sequent stations? (It could be that I'm not resetting something correctly).

Raf I understand function before form..

I would rather have a stable player that looks a little funny than a player that looks good and hickups all the time ..

I am with you all the way.. Anthing I can do to help just ask.. I can alway pick a crapy program but the ggod ones like this always take more time to see the real class work.

This is by far one of the original PSP items and those always take more time to do.

I think i will dust off my gcc and dust off an old project and mess with it this has inspired me to that at least..

I have a old PI mother board in a clear plexi case that uses a 40 X 4 lcd display on a detachable face so that the main unit can stay in the trunk and the face plate can be dash mounted in my car..

The idea was originaly to have it play into the stero head unit. I think I will set it up now as a stand alone shout cast server for my shop at work.. use the PSP to recive it Hummm...

I drone on.. Sorry Keep up the great work
